A new pizza restaurant chain is making its Alabama debut in downtown Birmingham.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is opening at The Waites Feb. 15.
Based in Irvine, California, the pizza joint offers an open-kitchen format that allows customers to customize or create their own pizza.
“Our mission at Blaze is really simple – we’re taking pizza back to its roots,” said Jim Mizes, president and chief executive officer of Blaze Pizza. “By making dough in-house, using carefully sourced ingredients, and cooking by fire, we’re giving guests a great way to enjoy artisanal pizza without the wait. It’s changing the way people think about and eat pizza.”
Gluten-free dough and vegan cheese are available.
“We are very excited to be bringing the Blaze Pizza brand to Birmingham and specifically to the UAB Blazers,” Greg Hazard, Blaze Pizza franchisee, said. “We love their slogan of ‘Forever Blaze’ and we are committed to living up to that challenge. This is our first location in Alabama and we are thrilled to announce our second location will be in Tuscaloosa this summer. Come on out and try us and see what we are bringing to the great state of Alabama where the Tide rolls and the dragon breathes fire just like our oven.”
As we previously reported, the 2,800-square-foot restaurant will be located at 707 Richard Arrington Blvd. Jr. S. The restaurant opening is creating 50 new local jobs.
Among others, American basketball player LeBron James is an investor and franchisee in the fast-growing restaurant.
